Longsword Sparring January Agreement 2015

Let's have a meeting in the democratic spirit to reach an agreement about how we in the future want our longsword sparring to be conducted and whether and how we should encourage members to participate in tournaments.

All SPIFF member are hereby invited to this meeting.

Meeting agenda:
Item 1:
Recommendations for the forms of longsword sparring should be clarified with regard to protection, weapons and rules. This topic should be geared towards a future integration into HEMA Sweden and to minimize any risk of injuries. I shall bring an assortment of swords and protective gear for all to look at. Please read the attached pdf prior to this meeting to see whether the Swordfish Tournament Rules have anything that You think we should have as well.

Item 2:
The purposes or goals for the SPIFF longsword sparring and other club activities should be clarified. This should be clarified for the purpose of increasing motivation and to clarify the ambition of SPIFF.
E.g. participation in one contest per term for x participants among our top ten.

Item 3:
Club colors, what should the SPIFF competition team look like? Stockholms Stigmän have orange shirts and socks. Uppsala use yellow, Örebro blue. Which of the SPIFF badge colours, gold, blue and black shoud we use? Should we have a SPIFF badge sewn onto jackets etc.? All this that builds relationships and affiliations is lacking today. It should be adressed to clarify the club's identity and culture.

Other & Övrigt:
Other topics will be adressed if we have the time.
There should be a pub visit afterwards, to conclude this January agreement.

Best regards,
Jens
